1. THE STROLBY. WHAT IS IT?

The Strolby is a small device that can fit in the palm of your hand. The Strolby, based on Google ‘nearby’
technology, continuously broadcasts a user-programmable message to a maximum distance of 300 feet to Android
devices with Bluetooth enabled. The message can be up to 40 characters plus a clickable link to a website. This
message shows up as a silent notification on an Android device.

NOTE: Android devices represents about 60% of the U.S. and Canadian market and 87.5% of the international market outside the U.S.

2. CAN THE STROLBY BROADCAST MESSAGES TO APPLE DEVICES?

Sort of. Apple devices at this time are not able to use Google’s ‘nearby’ technology. And no, we don’t know if and when Apple devices will ever be able to use Google’s ‘nearby’ technology. However, an Apple device using a Chrome browser is able to see the messages.

3. DOES THE STROLBY VIOLATE THE ANTI-SPAM LAWS?

No. This has all been verified. It is within CRTC regulations and doesn’t violate anti-spam. There’s no permanent text, email, notification, etc…It’s a temporary notification that they are able to view via your broadcast. If they don’t wish to view they can mute… It’s the same technology used in stores, airports, stadiums etc … Just now more affordable to the average person and most importantly … SMALL business owner.

4. I NEED INFO ON LEGALITY OF IT, DO WE HAVE ANYTHING?

These Beacon devices have been in use for a few years. Ours is the only one that uses the Google Nearby technology notification. It’s fully CRTC, Anti-Spam, FCC and FTC complaint. It’s not a text, not an email, doesn’t use data on the customers phone or access the contacts or information, and it doesn’t ping the phone either The end user, if they have their Google nearby notification settings and their Facebook nearby notifications settings turned on gives permission for the notification to be received, however the end user doesn’t get pushed to a website or video unless they click on the link itself in the notification and say yes to it.

5. DOES THIS BLOCK ANY OTHER PAIRED DEVICES?

No it does not block the signal.

 

6. DOES THE SETTING VIEWABLE FOR ALL BLUETOOTH DEVICES HAVE TO BE ON?

No. Only Bluetooth enabled and Location Services enabled.

 

7. HOW DO I CHANGE THE MESSAGE AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

In the Stroby back office, you’ll go into your back office, each unit has a serial number or code on the back match the numbers up to the one in the back office, type in 40-character message and url and hit enter. Once you do that, it’s done. Takes up to 12 hours to change the message, every message is looked at by a human being to ensure it’s a compliant message.

 

8. CAN MY MESSAGE BE IN ANY OTHER LANGUAGE BESIDES ENGLISH? 

Your message can be in any language as long as it is limited to the 40 characters

9. HOW WOULD SOMEONE STOP RECEIVING MESSAGES?

They’d have to turn the Nearby feature off or swipe the message/messages away.

 

10. I  MUTED MY OWN NOTIFICATION, HOW DO I TURN IT BACK ON?

Step 1: Go to settings

Step 2: scroll down and click on google

Step 3: scroll down and click on nearby

Step 4: Turn on nearby

 

11. WHY ARE MY MESSAGES NOT SHOWING UP UNDER MY NOTIFICATIONS?

There could be a few reasons for this, try these troubleshooting steps. Make sure the Android has the most current update for the operating system which can be found in the Play Store by searching KitKat and then choosing the update option. Reboot the phone by powering it off then on. Turn off Bluetooth, turn off location services, clear notifications, turn Bluetooth back on, and Turn location services back on as well, and then scroll down to google, click on nearby and turn on nearby

 

12. CAN EACH UNIT HAVE A DIFFERENT MESSAGE?

Yes. each unit can have a different message and different secure https link

 

13. WHAT IS ‘NEARBY NOTIFICATIONS’ TECHNOLOGY?

‘Nearby’ Notifications is an Android feature which enables contextual discovery. Associate your website or app with a beacon and devices nearby will display the message in the Nearby section of Google Settings, light up the Nearby Quick Settings tile on supported devices, and promote messages that perform well as notifications. 14. CAN I UPGRADE AND DOWNGRADE?

During the first two days you have the option to upgrade or downgrade by contacting customer support at [email protected] Past the first two days there is no upgrade/downgrade option at this time. You can cancel your subscription, return the units and then select a different package that meets your needs at the same price.

 

15. WHO CAN USE THIS DEVICE?

16. IS THERE AN ON/OFF SWITCH?

Yes. There is a button inside the unit. Just press the entire unit and a green light will flash when turning it on and a red light will flash when turning it off.

 

17. IS THE ACTIVATION FEE FOR EVERY DEVICE?

No. It is per order. The activation fee for the Strolby is $30. That fee is per order up to 100 units. That activation fee is 1 time and not monthly. Additional shipping for the United States and Canada is $10.00, outside of the U.S. and Canada is $30.00

 

18. HOW DO I REACH CUSTOMER SUPPORT?

There are multiple different email addresses currently set up to help serve you better…best is [email protected]

19. WHAT ABOUT THE BATTERY? DO WE NEED MAINTENANCE ON IT?

Battery lasts up to two years. It’s weatherproof and water resistant. If it does stop working within two years and you send it back and we’ll send you a new one.

 

20. DOES THE URL HAVE TO BE HTTPS?

YES. The site must be secure. Most sites selling or taking information are https. All facebook pages are https. If you need help please contact support and we can help install an SSL ceritificate on your site to make it secure.

 

21. DOES STROLBY OWN THE TECHNOLOGY OR HOLD THE PATENT?

No we don’t own it. What we have is an exclusive to work with the network marketing industry. Other people can sell a unit to somebody who’s in network marketing but they don’t have the exclusive to go to a company or to go through top leadership and have them come on board. We do. The beacon itself does the notification. This one is the only one that uses the technology of Nearby technology. You need
a system to collect and convert the leads and to follow up with all the leads

 

22. CAN SOMEONE ENROLL UNDER A BUSINESS NAME?

Yes, they can sign up under a business name when they go to set entity to request commission in the back office it will ask you for a Social Security Number or an Employer Identification Number number that’s where they will indicate how they are going to be paid as a business or person. You can only have one account per person (Social Security Number) or Business (Employer Identification Number)
